Delete Camera Archived Images - How?

I have implemented some IP Cameras. Everything appears to work great. But is there a way to delete the archived images that Vera saves. This question has been asked by a lot of people, but no one ever answers it. Is there a developer monitoring this forum from Vera that can please answer this question…

There must be a way to do this manually, otherwise you’ll have pages and pages of images which I don’t want.

Tnx,
Rob

I guess no one knows, huh! not even the folks at Micasaverde. Amazing!

I too would love to know this… There is very little clear direction OR info surrounding archived images etc.

Another similar topic: is there a way to trigger a recording and store thr recording locally? Or even email the pics?

Thanks
Mike

Just so you know Mike, I have Emailed the Verde customer service and hopefully they will respond with an answer. I just turned off the archiving feature for now. I’m using Foscam cameras (FI8905w) with the Foscam plugin and it works great. For now, I just have the camera interface emailing me a snapshot list when motion is detected and that works pretty well. I might just stay with this method and not use the Verde archiving if there is no way to delete images to avoid clogging up the system with a bunch images I can never get rid of. There is option in the Foscam plugin to remove archived images after a set number of days, but that doesn’t work for the archived images stored based on detected motion, at least this is what I’ve found. Regarding video, I would like to know how this works as well. I personally haven’t seen a way that Verde stores a video stream that can be emailed. I do know that the UI5 version doesn’t allow you to view streaming video no your mobile phone either using the iPhone apps Vera Mobile or Automator. They just look like quick snap shots. I downloaded the live cam pro app and it actually shows live streaming video from your home cams though. I think there is some plugin work to do still on the verde side with regards to camera devices =)

I’ll let you know if I hear anything back.

Regards,
Rob

No response? From what I heard from others, I’d figure they would have responded by now.

My apologies for the newbie question … Where are the images (still or video) stored and how I get to them?
I have a VeraLite and just installed a Foscam camera. The installation went ok (but I don’t know how to control the IR on/off).
Anyway - I would like to record images with a door sensor trip, but don’t know where the images are saved.
Thanks in advance.

On the micasaverde server you have 1gb storage per camera.
When it is full it just start overwrite the oldest. you can download the pictures and video when you click on the image/video and click save.

Thanks Da_Jojo. How do I get to an index of stored images?
Perhaps I am looking in the wrong places. Do I have to create an account somehow?
As you know, I am - overmyhead! thanks

you need a mac adress in the camera device advanced options for recording.
if you go to the dashboard and click there Devices tab and under there cameras, you see ur camera which has a archive button you can press. there u can see ur pictures by day. press on the calender on the right to see another day

@Da_Jojo - Thanks once again!

ok but… if you have several cameras like foscam for instance you tend to have different port numbers ( like ip:81 ip2:82 ).
Also, as you stated, to archive recorded video, you seem to need to have the MAC field setup in the parameters
But, when you have both the MAC field setup AND a custom port number in your IP field , it seems UI5 is resetting the ip address field and removes the customer port number ( cf other msg in this forum ). so it does not let a lot of choices to have several cams AND recording snapshots & videos…
am I getting this wrong ?

amg0 - sorry no answer for you - just another question for the forum.
After I set up my camera a few months ago I was able see archived images for a number of days (no idea how many). Now, my archive contains images from only the current day. Can anyone tell me how to store images for more days (a week or two perhaps?) on the micasaverde server?
thanks.

The original question doesn’t seem to have ever been answered (unless I missed it somehow).

I had the same question, but found that if you go into:

ACCOUNTS → MY ALERTS → (select the date of the picture/video that you want to delete)
you’ll see the alerts with the images listed there, AND the option to delete them.
