I would love to develop a device type of an arduino connected with an ethernet shield. I could not find any reference to such devices. I would love to hear anyone’s reaction to this idea. Is it crazy…or my next project?
There are a few posts about people who’ve connected Arduinos to their networks. You can find them by searching. The thing about making a generic Arduino device type is that the existence of such a device implies that you’ve flashed the Arduino with a specific piece of firmware that coordinates with your device type. That may conflict with the general-purpose manifesto of the Arduino.
In my setup, I’ve just got the Arduino acting as a web server, taking REST-jsh URLs and turning them into I2C commands. From the perspective of the Vera, it doesn’t even know that the Arduino is an Arduino.
