DataMine 2.0

Hi donjorhe

The only explanation I can think of is that your dataMine directory was not on your USB stick and when the box restarted tried to find it on the stick and failed. The setup you have right now in your debug looks fine. If you want to try and find the data you lost and you have access to the console (e.g. via PuTTY or AltUI) you could try the following command which will find where your dataMine database file is.

find / -name database

If you see /dataMine/database then the only database you have is the newly created one on your USB stick, if you see anything else then you have an old copy somewhere else which is no longer being referenced. It’s a bit of a job to merge two databases though.

Hi,

I’m writing a plugin which writes data to an influxdb instance, and then I use grafana to display data on a seperate machine. This works fine, but I would also like Imperihome to be able to read the graphs as well. Can anyone shed some light to how datamine exposes its data to imperihome?

Julius

Hello,

Here is a link with update. It supports access with data_request channel. Unfortunately it works quite unstable for large data requests (at least for UI7). So, for UI7 it would be better to use direct access to data.sh (it works both locally and remotely)

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3fZqBqWWnQhOEVBT1V0SnlXMTg

P.S. By default L_DataMine2.lua script limits data chunk size to 1Mb. You can reduce this size by additional url parameter “data_chunk” in bytes.

Best Regards,
Sergey

So how do I access DM remotely on UI7?

See attachments.

@sergvsdj I tried to install your new GUI from the google drive files (DataMine2_102.zip) according to the “readme.pdf”

uploaded the file dataMineGUI.tar.gz in to the folder /www/dmgui

uploaded the files L_DataMine2.lua, D_DataMine2.json and J_DataMine2_UI7.js using the vera UI with “Restart luup after upload”.

After this I now get “GCal3: Startup Lua Failed” (Seems like somehow the Google Calendar 3 plugin broke) and no new DataMine GUI is working.

Could you check if you have enough free space on your Vera unit? The best solution to save free space is to store GUI on external drive (create link).

I have a hard time accepting that my VeraPlus would be out of free space:

Memory Avail (kB)181728
Memory Free (kB)137288

Anyhow this is after I reverted to a backup witch f**ed up my device so I had to factory reset and apply another backup.
Now most things are back to normal but the factory reset deleted some files so I still have some things to fix before I’m back to square one (back to the state I had before I attempted to instal your new gui).

I think I will try your stuff on my spare VeraLite instead.

Dear Friends,

I don’t know why but DM2 again has an error :o
Just came back from vacation and wanted to look at the historical data - and nothing.

Does anyone know what happened while i was away?

Thank you!

Hello Sergey, i will be very appreciated if you will describe step by step instruction how to do this…

Use SSH connection to create ?/www/dmgui? directory and upload dataMine2GUI.tar.gz in it.

Thanks

Hello aivaredze,

Please note it targets to experienced users with technical background in Linux. Probably good case would be wait for app store release.

Some helpful information about SSH connection you could find at http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Logon_Vera_SSH.
Then you will need to use any tool to transfer files via ssh (for example WinSCP).

Best Regards,
Sergey

Hello Sergey,
Thanks for reply.
Oh yes i’m newbie in Linux.
I did the connection with PuTTy to my Vera , but no clue what to do further…
probably i will follow your suggestion …
Any idea when it will be released …?
Thank you.

Finally found time to try the enhancement by @sergvsdj on my spare vera.

Seems to run fine locally but I still can not get it working remotely.

First of all I do not have The “Links” on the first page and if I use the links under the “datamine” page it works fine locally but remotely I get the following:

Hello korttoma,

Please check if D_DataMine2_UI7.json is set as device_json on "Advanced>Params" page.
 Try refresh browser cashe (Ctrl+F5).

Best Regards,
Sergey

Hi,

I’ve updated documentation with manual installation instructions.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3fZqBqWWnQhdlEzalpNc2dTSDg

That was it! Now it is working. Thanks!

Hi @sergvsdj,

Since I managed to get your enhancements to work on my VeraLite I thought I would try again on my VeraPlus.

But again I had some issues so I tried the first command from the “Manual installation” (/bin/tar -C /www -xzvf /www/dmgui/dataMine2GUI.tar.gz).
I now received some message indicating there is not enough space to extract the file. So you initial responce about “enough free space” seems to have been correct @sergvsdj but I don’t quite understand how there cannot be enough space?

I noticed that there was lots of files in the datamine folder so I thought these must be un-necessary since I have all the datamine database files on my NAS as a cifs share. I deleted some files and then I noticed that they also disappeared from my NAS :frowning:

After deleting the files it seems like the installation of your enhanced version went fine and is now working but I would really like to find out why there were not enough space and what is using all this space. Any help would be appreciated since I don’t know where to look. Maybe I should ask Vera Support to have a look?

Hi all,

I have installed DataMine in my Vearedge controller and then used <vera_ip>/dm to open GUI, the first page I have found is the GUI asking me to choose the UUID USB (because I installed the USB in the unit). But, the problem is that, there is no any USB can found ( please see the attached screen). Please any one can help me.

@Gad, I found that if you run with @RWoerz procedure you will be able to get your version to recognize your USB. I too had the same problem, after following the procedure I ended up updating the DataMine 2 parameter tab with my UUID USB particulars along with associated directories and was able to successfully get <vera_ip>/dm to display properly. Thanks for supporting me,

Could you please send me the link for the procedure that I have to follow to solve this matter.

Thanks in advance
Gad
