Danfoss LC-13 Temperature seeting has to be at >25 for valve to open

I have three new Danfoss LC-13, and I find that I have to set the setpoint (temperature) to >25C for the radiator valve to open. I have standard TRV valves with no adapters fitted so the unit screws onto the top of the valve when I remove the standard TRV.

The standard TRV’s when set to 4 which equates to 22C roughly the radiator works fine.

Is there a way of altering the calibration of the LC-13 as this is where the problem seems to lie. I have reset to factory settings etc and spent a lot of time searching the net for similar issues but can’t find any. Also this happens on all three LC-13, not just one of them.

Have you allready tried to set a temperature and than leave it for a long time ( couple of hours)?

My danfoss thermostats are very accurate , but it takes a very long time for them to respond. I set 19 degreess , and it will be exactly 19 degrees , but I have to set this temperature at least an hour before for the danfoss to respond and opening his valve.

Cor,
Thank you for you comments. I have tried leaving the temperature at 22C for 4 hours and the valve didn’t open in all that time, but I have put a sensor on the radiator and opened it 1C per half hour starting at 22C. At 23 the valve opened for about 5 minutes then shut down again, then I left it for 1/2 an hour and nothing changed then I went to 24C same happened, then 25C same thing and the room temperature stayed at around 21.3C all the time. 26C the valve stayed open and the room heated up to 22C when I then turned the heating thermostat back down to 21C.

It looks to me that the calibration is reading high by about 4C, what would be good is to adjust the TRV and take 4C off the reading.

Very wierd, sorry I can not help you further. I have 4 of these danfoss thermostats and they all work ( altough slow) excellent.
Maybe yours is faulty?

Cor

Cor,
Thanks for trying to help. I don’t think it is faulty as I have three and they all perform the same on that radiator.

I am reading the manual again , I need to install my thermostats on a new vera +

I coma across this:

4.6 Deactivating intelligent control The thermostat?s intelligent control ensures that a desired temperature is reached by a given time. For example if Danfoss link is set to switch from 17?C to 22?C at 07.00 am - e.g. from a saving period to a normal heating period, the thermostat will calculate when it has to begin heating in order to reach 22?C at 07.00 am. This feature may be deactivated as follows:

Maybe???

Cor

Hi, i have the same problem, Did u ever found how to fix this?

Thanks

Corr, the quote you made is that from the manual?

Im not sure whatever you have a z Wave compatible device.

The snippet you quote seems to be from this manual
https://www.robbshop.nl/amfilerating/file/download/file_id/32/

And that is for the Living Connect without z wave connection but connection to Danfoss Link.

The correct manual is this one.

Hope you have the right thermostate.

Best regards,
Jens

@ Jensk; I think so , they work fine these thermostats , when I set a setpoint temperature, the temperature is there exact! ( measured with a seperate device offcourse). But the downside is , for the thermostat to respond , it takes time ( wake up intervall?) and than to actually open or close the valve, it takes ages. But in a scene to have the room at a specific temperature, starting about 1 hour before works super.
