Daikin Airbase BRP15B61 WiFi Controller

Hey all,

I’ll preface this all by saying straight up that I don’t consider myself a developer (Network Engineer, Sys Admin, Sys Integrator background), but with work, and in pursuing home automation, there’s a lot of development-related items I’ve become familiar and tinkered with, especially APIs, such that I’m generally willing to give anything a go for myself at home and I usually end up with a pretty rudimentary, yet functional result.

The new Daikin Airbase BRP15B61 WiFi Controller was released recently and is compatible with Daikin’s ducted and split-system products. I picked up the controller about a month ago, installed it for my ducted system, it’s all operational via the Daikin smartphone app. Happy days.

I’m looking to learn/create a UI7 plugin for this new controller, ideally, building on the amazing work of others here for the previous Daikin WiFi controllers, eg;

And the Whirlpool crew over at:

As well as taking a look at existing UI7 plugins

As I’ll be learning UI7 plugins and general Lua (who knows, maybe I’ll build a basic WoW mod one day!) at the same time, I don’t really know how long this will take, so I’m just putting this out there in case someone like me does a search, so they don’t come up empty.

Here’s the GitHub I’ll be using:

(I’ve got a lot to learn about the developer’s side of GitHub too)

I’ll probably start by tracking down/confirming the API calls needed for this model’s operations and then make a basic plugin to turn it off and on, and go from there.

Naturally, if anyone is already gifted enough with plugins and/or knows how to retrofit any of the existing offerings for UI7 and this new controller (I’ve checked that at least some of the API calls are similar to those documented by ael-code), I welcome and would be eternally appreciative of any contributions/assistance/guidance and am also more than happy to be a guinea pig.

Thanks.
