D?wi wall controller 05443 installation troubles

I ordered a D?wi wall controller. First problem is how to know what version I have. I ordered model number 06443. On the box it says is an 06443-5, on the controller itself there’s a sticker saying it’s the 05443-6. On the internet both models look similar so I presume they are the same? Are they?

Second I try to include the controller in mY VERA3 network. Press the include button, VERA in include mode and the two see each other. On the VERA dashboard there’s a new device that has no switches or whatsoever.

According to this forum (http://wiki.zwaveeurope.com/index.php?title=Use_ZME_06443_as_Scene_Controller_in_VERA) I now have to configure variables 13 and 14 with value 3. I also have to setup the wakeup interval, but my Device does not show this attribute. After that I click ‘Configure node right now’ and triple click on the UP button of the controller to wake it up. VERA gives an error saying it could not configure the associations…

After that I try to create a scene as described but it does not react on the trigger I set.

The only way I could get the controller to do something is by creating an association group in the Device on VERA. I created group 1, set it to a a lamp switch) en send the configuration to the controller. After that clicking the controller results in swithing the lamp on or of. Nice, but nor what I wanted. I wanted the controller to trigger a scene…

Anyone any ideas that could help me out? I would be very thankful!

You exactly describe what happened to me over the Christmas holidays. I was about to sent 2 of them back to shop where I got them but I gave it one last shot. I did a factory reset of my vera II and then I could include them without problems.

I know this isn’t much of a solution but since this happened to me for two different controllers I wanted to let you know.

After i set parameter 13 and 14 i had to remove battery for it to start sending scene ID’s instead of on/off…
I hope you have the Z-wave.Me controller and not the D?wi controller. The D?wi controllers are rather useless compared to the ZME controllers.

Hmm… I did a factory reset but the VERA did not get up anymore. Only the power led and the wifi led are green. No WAN, no Z-Wave. Can’t get any connection anymore ??? Have raised a support ticket. Hopefully they can help me get this damn thing back to work.

Maybe the ip changed?

Received a complete new VERA 3 from MicaseVerde. It seemed to not have survived my reset. Now again am trying to include de Duwi wall controller and getting it to trigger scenes. Still without luck. Every time I send the configuration settings it fails. Tried to remove batteries without success. I really do not want to reset my VERA again… Unless that’s the only option you have for me…

Resetting the Vera shouldn’t be necessary. I’ve had a hard time with my wall controller, perhaps because it’s an earlier model and doesn’t even properly support scenes (scene commands get transmitted but the scene numbers get all jumbled up in Vera, and only some of them actually work).

The hard part for me was keeping the wall controller awake long enough to accept the configuration from Vera. I ended up doing a “configure now”, then click the paddle on the wall controller 3 times to wake it up, wait 2 seconds (not more, not less!) and click 3 times again, repeating until Vera was done configuring the unit.
