Hi all!
I am new to the forum, so please be gentle …
I have three CT80 thermostats with the z-wave module in my home, and I am thinking of getting a veralite controller.
Will I be able to get these thermostats connected, and will I be able to remotely control them? Will it be possible to program a schedule through the PC app or Android?
Welcome to the forum. I think what you need is in the top right hand corner of this site… “SEARCH”
CT80 and CT100 comes up many times and is a common thermostat (so giving you the easy way out YES it works). I use TRANE’s myself over 7 of them.
Most time schedules will not be available if your using z-wave. Vera turns on and off the a/c or heat and you can make your own schedules in VERA. Many thermostat’s disable the built in schedules when you start to control the thermostat from an outside source.
If you want to leave all the logic and timing in the themrostate and only want control of that while your away, a WIFI thermostat might be better for you.
Thanks a lot!
Yes, I was hoping to be able to create my own schedules in vera.
Is there a guide somewhere on how that’s done, assuming it’s not a built in functionality?

No guide that I know of and It’s not gonna be as easy as setting a schedule in the thermostat. Your either gonna have to use scenes or I use PLEG. PLEG has a learning curve but is powerful. I base my A/C setpoints and such off if I’m home or away, Time of day, current and projected outside temp and current inside temps. This logic is all done in PLEG and then it changes the set-point on the thermostat or turns it off.
The CT-80 Thermostat does work with Vera (I have one myself) but you need a wifi module for the tstat and not the z-wave module. You then need to go to the apps section of Vera and install the Radio Thermostat Plugin. Using that you can use the many threads on here on the Radio Thermostat plugin board to get Vera to talk to your CT-80. You can then use it in scenes and do some other cool things like get it to display outdoor weather from the Wunderground Weather App or display remote readings from Everspring ST14’s.
