Can’t add Intermatic HA07 controller
I was able to initiate the process of network transfer, but HA07 hung in copying state, and the only way to unblock it was to remove batteries. Tried few times. Even though controller stuck in unusable state, it appeared on Vera screen. -
Can’t add ThinkStick as a secondary controller
Pretty much the same problem - transfer initiated, and then controller hangs on with “Receiving…” message. Even though controller stuck in unusable state, it appeared on Vera screen. -
On every attempt above Vera created another node, every time. I tried to delete failed ones, but they keep reappearing.
Just tried Intermatic HA09 - the same, it stays in copying mode forever.
Is there anything I’m missing?
So, by now I have 9 (nine) controllers in Vera’s list - all failed attempts to include 3 different controllers.
If I delete any, it appears in Unassigned list.
If I do “remove a dead node” it does nothing…
I did find a problem adding the HA07, which was fixed in the 292 firmware. It’s working fine for me now. Does it work for you? As far as the dead nodes… I don’t really see how you have 9 controllers in the list if there’s only 3. Even if you add the same controller over and over again it should only be in the list once. Can you fill out the tech support request as described in the announcement? http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=115.0
Do this after you have attempted to add back a few controllers, so the logs will have the Z-Wave communication to/from the device.
As tech support request link doesn’t work, I’ll reply here
I just upgraded and reset Vera z-wave.
Then I retried to add HA07
- reset HA07
- set in in “receive network only” mode
- click on Add z-wave controller
- HA07 began to show blinking “COPY RS”
Normally it would take few seconds, but it keeps blinking. The only way to make it work again is to remove batteries. Controller appeared on Vera screen, but apparently network replication wasn’t completed normally. Something was copied as I could add devices, but the process of removing batteries leaves “buggy” aftertaste.
Please note - I’m having this problem with HA07, two HA09, and ThinkStick - the same scenario.
All hardware worked properly till now.
As tech support request link doesn't work, I'll reply here
Do you have a few minutes to let me take a look at your system? I want to (a) figure out why tech support isn’t working for you (it should work in the 292 firmware), and (b) get the logs with the Z-Wave history. I’m at (702) 487-9770 ext. 803 until 7:30pm today (Saturday), and all day Monday, pacific time.
I just tried to use tech support - I clicked submit and nothing happened besides a red square appeared in the upper left corner. I have no idea whether logs have been sent or not. I tried few times
I couldn’t get it to work properly with IE7 and confirmed that with MCV on the phone. If you were using IE, try Firefox until that gets fixed. (I was trying to enable remote tech support access and I’ll I got was a green checkbox but nothing else seemed to happen. Loading it up in FF displayed the access code immediately.)

I used firefox ???
325xi, your serial number (shown on the bottom) is 7016, right? I see a bunch of support requests with: I can’t add any controllers, they hang up in “receiving network information” state. And they do accompany the logs and conf files. I see there’s a bug that when you do click submit you don’t get feedback to know it went through. This will be fixed here: http://bugs.micasaverde.com/view.php?id=236
I’ll look at the logs on Monday to see why it’s not working to add the controller and fix it on this report: http://bugs.micasaverde.com/view.php?id=247
Oh, I’m sorry about multiple requests - I didn’t see a response and thought it didn’t send it… :o
I would like to emphasize that controller got added to Vera, but I suppose Vera didn’t send some kind of ACK/commit/confirmation or whatever else so controller was expecting more data…
I didn’t test it on today’s firmware, but on the prevous one it was adding a new copy of the same controller every time, under different nodes of course.
I have the multiple controller problem- 17 controllers at the last count. If you reset the controller while adding it the node assigned to it previously is untouched and still on the list. Its a Zwave protocol issue. There is a process for removing dead nodes, but it doesn’t automatically apply to controllers. neither Controlthink nor Leviton’s controller, which have the dead node removal ability work for controllers. I will delete my complete system soon and start over, but some is still in flux and the whole thing wors so I’m in no rush.
I’m just curious how long it takes for you to add HA07 - is it few seconds, or more?
Confirm - it works in 320
