Creating virtual garage opener/closer

All,

I am trying to create myself a virtual garage door operator device.

I am going to use a fibaro door/window sensor (to sense the current state of the door) and a fibaro dimmer to activate the switch (that controls the garage door) remotely.

So far I have successfully created a scene which turns on the dimmer and then off again 2 seconds later that correctly activates the door. I now have 2 questions:

(1) how do I create a virtual device that reports the state of the door (open or closed) and is able to operate the door (using the scene I have created)

(2) once this device has been created, will it be able to be operated using iVera mobile app?

I use a plugin called Garage Door created by RichardTSchaefer, it’s available from the install apps store. It’s worked great for me, consolidates the garage door sensor and a switch (I used a Evolve LFM-20) into a single device with a lock/unlock function which is usable from iVera or Automator. No need to create a scene, it also handles the quick turn off of the switch.

Actually I only packaged the plugin and cleaned up the interface.

  1. How do I associate the window/door sensor to it?
  2. How do I get it to operate my device to open and close the door?

I know these are basic questions, but it isnt obvious from the settings menus.
