I’ve seen a few threads about Sonos integration, but I have another product, the Pure Jongo.
Pure Jongo is similar to Sonos, but in my opinion has better sound quality and is much much less expensive.
Does anyone know how, or if, it could be controlled. At the moment my Jongo is linked to my home WiFi network so it sends music to speakers in each room and the garden.
The Jongo plays properly as a DLNA MediaRenderer device where it can reliably accept a run of audio content that it is directed to play via the home network
So you should be able to control it through my DLNA plugin.
You asked the same question in another topic and I answered to you that now you have to browse/select a media to be played from your home DLNA servers. Then you will be able to control the playback (pause, play, stop, volume, …). That is the general purpose of a media controller.
Yes - and thanks for your help. The problem is I don’t know how to do that. Browse/Select from where? My phone, the app in Vera, the PC? How and where? There seems to be an idea of a DLNA server and a controller. How are the two connected? Many questions I know - and basically my problem is I am not technical and Google doesn’t help much for this app.
It seems to be a great app. I would just love if someone could produce a simple “how-to” guide, with screenshots, showing how to use it in a couple of different scenarios.
If I ever succeed in getting it working I am happy to draft a how-to guide. Has anyone else needed one?
The role of my plugin is to connectr any DLNA server to a chosen renderer + control this renderer.
To browse media, just open the Player tab in UI. At the bottom of this tab, you have few controls to search and select a DLNA server and then browse media provided by this server. As soon as you select a playable media, just push the Play button and the plugin will start the playback of this media on your renderer.
The controls at the top of the Player tab allows to control the playback.
Notre that you can even start the playback of a media through another application and just uses the plugin to control it (for example pause it or adjust the volume).
Just open the UI, go through the tabs and you will see how it is easy to understand.
Thanks! I started some music using my Pure player (on my phone) and now it appears on the app so i can start and stop music.
I hadn’t been able to browse music from Windows Media Player so I thought I was doing something wrong.
I still think it would be great to have a tutorial / how-to guide, showing some useful examples that this great app could be used for. Maybe someone else can volunteer to create one (as you’ve done all the hard work creating the app). I would offer to do it - but I don’t know the app or what it can be used well enough.
