Controller on/off doesn't make sense

My Intermatic HA09 controller has 6 pairs of on/off buttons. When I follow the wiki instructions on configuring the controller (assigning scenes to each button) it asks me to enter the key number. I assume this is “1” or “2” or etc. But what doesn’t make sense to me is there there are 2 buttons for each. On and Off. How do I specify which button runs the scene?

Thanks.

The ‘On’ button runs the scene. The ‘Off’ button just turns off all devices that are part of the scene.

I read this wiki entry, but it doesn’t say what controllers can be programmed this way - directly from Vera.
As was discussed earlier, different brands handle scenes in totally different ways so it’s unlikely that this way of config will work with ALL possible controllers - or I’m missing something?

Is Intermatic HA07/09 supported? Others?

Your question is if the ‘add scene assignment’ button should work with all controllers? That is a ‘yes’. It should. There’s a standard Z-Wave command class for transferring scenes. I’ve tested it on a few controllers and it worked on all except for the Cooper Aspire.

Tnx

Is it possible to enable similar Scene Off function on web UI?
Second click on the scene icon would turn off the devices - currently it just re-runs the scene…

Yep, we’ll do it: http://bugs.micasaverde.com/view.php?id=422

What if I want to do more than just turn devices On as part of a scene? For example, I might want to turn on some lights and then send an email reporting that the scene is triggered. Is this possible? Thanks.

Scenes → Add event → Notify users → Check the user you want to notify.
