Good day.

I have been trying to access Our Vera away from home, and keep on getting CONTROLLER OFFLINE.

Unfortunately I cannot physically check the unit, how can I reboot the unit, when away.

In these cases you cannot. When you encounter this issue you will need a separate system you could use to ensure the Vera can power cycle itself.

  1. Get an Internet connected power strip. They are on Amazon.
  2. Wifi enabled outlet you can control from an app that doesn’t rely on Vera.
  3. Automatic scene to reboot your controller. (if the controller goes offline this won’t help but you could make a daily reboot).

How dold cable companies over come this?

I can remote boot my cable modem when it’s down.
