Configuring remote controllers - devices instead of scenes?

I am configuring some HA09’s (which I have used before) and some new HA07’s.

I see in the wiki that Vera can configure scenes on the HA07’s. What I was wondering is whether I can configure simple device-links to the buttons, rather than scenes. For example, let’s say I want button1=lamp1, button2=sw1, button3=lamp2, and button4=lamp3. I would prefer not to create a scene for each of these devices as it would clutter things up and duplicate the device list 1 for 1. Is there a way to do this that I am missing?

Thanks,
David

Look here: http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/ZWave_Add_Controller I think that method 1 it’s what are you interested in doing.

Thanks for taking a look. This was the page I first worked from, bu unless I am reading it incorrectly, it still requires a scene to be defined. I was trying to avoid creating scenes for each of my devices - it seemed kind of silly - and cumbersome, and a lot of work if I had to redo it - and I would not create them if I could just assign a device instead of a scene using Vera.

The first step of method one reads “Create the scenes in Vera’s web UI. See Scenes for instructions” - and I do not see a way of assigning anything other than a scene in the GUI. I suspect I am out of luck, but wanted to ask everyone.

That is the device association you are looking for - you just need to know what group each button triggers and assign a device to a group in Devices → More → Custom ZWave Settings → Associations → Add Group
