Completely reset a Vera 3 to factory settings

I’ve been having some problems with my Vera3 since the update to UI7 (not getting notifications, I can’t even see the unit from work right now).

I would like to completely reset and start clean (with UI7). I know this will be a bit painful having to re-add all my devices, but I’ve had the unit for while and not that I better understand the system and Lua I think I can create a much cleaner system.

What is the best way to start clean? If I can completely reset the unit, do I have to recreate my getvera logins? Should I remove my accounts before wiping things out? Do I have to unpair every device first before resetting?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don’t know that your trying to fix, but if you really want to skip fixing it and start from scratch you can unpair all your devices (before or after don’t matter but I would do it before) Ask for or search for the force upgrade link to the latest version (even if that’s what you have already installed) and click the checkbox reset to factory below it.

Yes the information is not only stored in VERA on the devices. But the Devices themselves have the controller communication information. So a wipe on the controller doesn’t free up the device for pairing to a new or restored controller. Same goes for buying used devices, usually they are not removed correctly so you start with a exclusion then inclusion.
