Complete Loss of all Z-wave functionality - can't get it back

Hello,

I sent a ticket into Mios as well but I thought I’d post on here too. I added my 30th Z-wave device (Evolve LFM-20) while the Vera2 was on the battery pack in my garage. I brought the unit back into the house and set it back up as normal. During the heal phase 5/7 all z-wave devices suddenly stopped responding and went red in UI4. I tried to reheal, and then I could not get a signal transmitted to any device.

I tried restoring from a backup, resetting the Z-wave chip, rebuilding the network, factory reset – no luck. I then tried dropping all devices and restarting from scratch and I cannot get the device to pair with anything. When I do the pairing process the Vera just blinks and does not flutter. I tried the desperate measure of upgrading to the newest RC firmware today and no luck either.

Everything else essentially seems to work – its like the z-wave transmitter just stopped altogether.

Oh also - even though my battery pack is fully charged, I can no longer run the Vera2 off the pack. It begins the init process but after about 30 seconds the Vera turns off.

Only a Primary controller can perform & complete a heal network.

Check this area: Dashboard => Z-Wave device => options:
What does it say there next to Role?
Master SIS:NO PRI:YES ?

JOD.

I have the same thing with one of my systems this morning about the same time. I’m remote so I can’t do much locally. I had this same thing happen two days ago on this same system. This time I was local and I removed all the nodes and then re joined them with good results. But for now I’m also down, the same as you. Error message;: Transmit failed with code: 1. Posted support tickets but no response as of yet.

Hi JOD,

This is what it says:

Role	Master SIS:NO PRI:YES

I thought maybe the new module I installed was jamming me somehow, so killed the fuse on that line… no luck. I then killed power to everything in the house except 1 binary on/off z-wave switch to see if it would pair… nada.

My device is definitely defective. Totally shocked and disappointed :frowning:

"Dongle is in a bad state. " looks dubious. Please help

Does “reset z-wave chip” supposed to log anything, anywhere? cmh, dmesg… ?

08      09/04/11 11:57:35.310   JobHandler_LuaUPnP::HandleActionRequest device: 1 service: urn:micasaverde-com:serviceId:ZWaveNetwork1 action: SoftReset <0x2c0c>

Shows up in the log, but very delayed and nothing after that.

Thanks for everyone who helped me out. I finally got it to exclude devices and then rebuilt the whole network. Very not fun but at least my device is not defective.

Kristopher,

I started a new thread http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,10392.0.html ; I am having the same issues!
