I am allso intrested in a CO2 sensor but I’m not prepared to construkt anything. So far the best value for prize seems to be the netatmo. Have a look here → http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,13489.0.html

You can also find some CO2 sensors here: http://www.edaphic.com.au/products/gas-sensing-technology/carbon-dioxide-2/co2-sensors/ They are based on NDIR. I am not sure how much they cost. Best to contact them.

By the time you add on a Z-Wave module to almost any stand alone sensor you might as well buy the Neatamo, know that it will integrate and does not look Heath Robinson (tatty to thos who don’t know what Heath Robinson means).

I noticed that the MH-Z14 can be found at about 30 dollars now and it can be integrated by using the MySensors plugin.
