I used to be on UI2, and that was when you could telnet to the vera box, and set the root password so you can ssh to the box. Since then, i’ve upgraded to UI4, but found that it’s been crashing on me. I did a factory reset and couldn’t seem to downgrade to UI2. When I put in “http://download.mios.com/betafirmware/wl500gP_Luup_ui2-1.0.996-1.trx” where it has URL for MiOS custom firmware, i get back “Failed to download the Firmware Url!!!”. I am supposed to put the link in there and NOT the OpenWRT i’m hoping. Well. after a factory reset, i’m still at UI4, and now i can’t ssh to my vera box, and i can’t telnet to it either to set a root password. So I’m assuimng there is some root password that’s been set.
Vera 1 the root password is the Default wifi password and with Vera2 its the House ID on the back of Vera.
Thanks for the fast response! I should have thought to try that!
Zmistro,
I am having same problem and have know idea what the root password is on Vera 2. I don’t have anything called House ID on back or bottom of my Vera 2.
There should be a sticker on the bottom of the vera. I think it was the same as your Wifi password. If that doesn’t work, it was ONE of those, try 'em all.
I tried using every entry on the sticker as the root password. None of them worked.
Oh well at least I got my ip camera working and taking pictures when motion is detected.
