Just set up my Vera 3 but it doesn’t allow me to check “send text message to my mobile phone” or “send me an email”.
I click the boxes and nothing happens. It does allow me to select the country and the mobile phone carrier.
Did you create a mios account?
- Garrett
I have a mios account, another thing I can’t do is adjust the date. My device is set a day ahead of the actual date.
What firmware release are you on? This is all trying to be set via the cp.mios.com website?
- Garrett
I just installed it today and updated it to the newest firmware. I’m not next to it now but I went through the set up and it never allowed me to check the boxes. I rebooted the Vera 3 and even created a new user, and still nothing.
My Vera3 allows me to set it to send SMS messages. I have selected my Country and Carrier, and entered the mobile number. But it won’t send SMS messages. I get notification emails but no texts.
I’m wondering if Vera3 UI5 is working at all with SMS. Has anyone had any success receiving SMS with V3 UI5?
I am updated to the latest version 1.5.254

To my knowlege vera 3 text messages are not working
The texts work on My V3, they didn’t to start with, but they fixed something server side!
Finally was able to get texts an emails to work, had to reset MiOS using google chrome. Fixed ALL of my prior issues.
When did you notice that SMS was working on V3? Are you still running UI5?
I will try a restart and see if it is magically working now. But as of an hour ago SMS was still not working on mine. Glad to hear some success though, it gives me hope.hehe
There was only a period of a few days where it didn’t work, and that was around or just shortly before its launch date. MCV resolved it pretty quickly for everyone within a few days with a server update.
Yes I’m still running UI5 as there is no other option. It seems to be working very well though, save for a few things that need fixing, and I’m very happy with it!
I have a Vera 2 on UI5 (1.5.255), and text messaging (Verizon) still does not work for me and never has since UI5 came out. It worked on UI4 before UI5 was released. Whatever problem they have is not completely fixed. I have tried changing my user settings and then changing them back, but nothing works.
I can’t get it working either. What I have done in the meantime is set up an additional user that sends an email to my phone via vtext.com, which is a Verizon solution for emailing text messages. I still don’t know if that incurs additional text messaging charges, but I don’t think it is separate from your text plan.
If anyone else knows better please let me know.
Unfortunately this is not accurate, it has never been resolved for myself and others who are reporting the same, I have never been able to get a text sent out from my V3, my V2 sends them just fine
I just tested it. It did send me an SMS message. The weird thing is in the contact information it would not let me select which provider. It simply says provider. I am running Firmware 1.5.254 .
Tad
clearly it is working for some and not for others
update: mcv made some change and I can now sent text alerts from V3
I just confirmed that text messaging is now working for me on Vera 2 with UI5. ;D
No luck here with UI5, it hasn’t been working for months for me
I was able to change my contact info and vera is supposedly sending a verification number but it never arrives…

SMS texting is working on mine, just triggered an event with notification.
Make sure settings for your provider is correct.
