When i load that into the browser it works well, but when i enter the info on versatile adding a new camera, (using other/generic), it doesn’t show anything.
You can’t add it like that because the camera isn’t a zwave device. I made a mention in some other post to avoid confusion you don’t buy a zwave camera, you buy a camera that works with your zwave controller. Does that make sense?
I haven’t heard of your camera. Since the vast majority on the forum here are using the base Vista Cam/PT or Foscam which are pretty much identical cameras, they are part of the Vera installation.
For you, if there are no legitimate working methods to “properly” install you camera into Vera then try this post:
However, please see my post all the way at the bottom. In the version of UI7 that I was running at the time, .481 I believe, I needed to do this. I now have .513 firmware so maybe these instructions will help you out.
Inside your browser when you look at: http://192.168.1.79/snapshot.cgi is that the URI for the actual image? Right click on the image, and look at properties, or even better use F12/network-trace to find the real link for the updating images.
There may be a chance that the browser communication of userid & password to the camera is not plain text but via a session cookie or similar security mechanism. If so, Vera’s camera plugins at this time do not support that and as such won’t produce a picture.
I was having this same problem with a SRICAM camera in UI5. I decided to add it even though it wasn’t showing the image. I then set it up to record an image every 5 minutes. When I checked the next day, all the recorded images were there but I still could NOT view the image “live”.
I’m new to UI7 so I’m still playing with it and haven’t figured out how to record on interval yet but it does seem to point to the fact the Vera can get the image to save it. I’m running with a Vera3.
