Can't Arm or Disarm my DSC

I can see the alarm zones but I can’t arm or disarm my DSC alarm system using my phone. It shows command sent but nothing happens. I tried from UI5 control panel, from Vera Mobile, from HomeautomationHD, same results…

Have you set the EnableRemoteArm variable in the Advanced tab?

Extract from DSC Alarm Panel

If remote Arming and Disarming is not required from Vera, then exit and save; however if this is required then stay in this screen and enter one of the following into the EnableRemoteArm variable:

disarm (Least secure as all functions are available including disarm)
arm (Will enable away and stay arming)
NOTE: disarm is the least secure and enables all remote arming features.

After entering any of the above, exit and save.

When I tri to change EnableRemoteArm from “false” to either “arm” or “disarm” I get the following error: DSC Alarm Panel[4] : Running Lua Startup

That should not be the case as if you entered something wrong in the variable the message displayed should be something like:
Enter blank, false or a value from the wiki…

Ensure it is in lower case and no spaces and verify the other setting. Ensure your zones are set correctly (no zone doubled entered) and the system interface match your either 2DS or IT100 (2DS setting also include the EVL3).

Hopefully someone else maybe able to assist if the issue persist as I will not be available for the rest of the day (middle of night here).

I noticed this occured when I added a wifi foscam…could that be the reason?

It should have and you would need to verify your logs to see what is occurring. Alternative and quite quick solution rather than searching now might be to delete the app, install app, set interface and Ip and then zones etc. it would be something simple but chasing can sometimes take longer then verifying the install is 100% correct. I gather you are using an EVL3 and fixed IP address has been assigned in the network tab of the EVL3…,

FYI I normally use the mobile portal through Envisalink to do any real interaction with the system. It is well designed and the processes are simple and quick with immediate feedback.

Deleted all plugins and reinstalled and it worked…wierd issue :slight_smile:

But I’ll take your advice and use the envisalink mobile portal for alarm interaction. Seems much more stable.
