Can't access local portal

I updated to the latest firmware a few days ago, and since then my Veralite has been very unstable. I don’t have a lot of crazy stuff going on, either - just a DSC panel + a few sensors and a wireless siren, and like 4 scenes.

The most recent issue is I can’t get on the portal from any browser (tried IE and Chrome). It loads up, redirects, then says “Loading Data” for like a minute then just stops. All it shows is the header of the page, the rest of the page is blank. I’ve tried unplugging/replugging to no avail.

Is this firmware just busted?

Oddly, I am able to get access to my Vera through the remote portal on MCV’s site, which turns this from a catastrophic issue to just an incredibly annoying one so far.

PS: These captchas are obnoxious and ridiculous. “Write the 2nd, sixth and last letter of the word ‘bookmark’ (no separator)”. Seriously?

What do you mean by; “since then my Veralite has been very unstable”? Is there a problem with the Vera Lite other than your ability to access the portal?

No, the firmware is not busted. Though, it is possible that your installation is.

Have you cleared the cache in your browsers? I would not recommend using IE.

I tried multiple browsers, I usually use Chrome. I’ll try clearing out my cache and I’ll see if the same thing happens with Firefox. Maybe I just need to reset it and restore.

I can’t access the UI through cpmos, I’m suspecting something is amiss at micasaverde.

I have however been able to log into my local vera, so I know the unit is OK.

Trying a local login just so you narrow down the problem.

Same problem, I seem not to be able to log in. Just received my vera today and all I can say it wasn’t a stroll in the park to set this thing up. After Hours I finally was able to get the UI, but now after walking thru the house adding some stuff, I can’t access the UI via Chrome or any other browser… Just with my Android smartphone I can switch stuff off and on…

And indeed, the rediculous security questions are very useless and anoying. Who would even care about spaming this forum? It’s a total communication killer here …

If your Vera is configured to use DHCP for network IP address assignment(the default) and you have not reserved an IP address for it on your router, it is not uncommon to have the address change when you plug it back in. Most often, the IP address will increment by one. If your Vera was 192.168.0.31 it may now be 192.168.0.32

I cannot presently remember the friendly URL that is the easiest way to find your Vera and its IP address. However, this URL https://sta1.mios.com/locator_json.php will return a string of text that clearly contains your Vera’s IP address.

It is usually a good idea to reserve an IP address for your Vera on your router. The method depends on which router you have, but you might find help by Googling "configure dhcp reservation

Alternatively, You could set a static IP address on your Vera, but this seems to create problems for many inexperienced users.

Since you are new here, I’ll keep this short. We have and still do get spammed. We recently had a large amount of spam with in the last week or so. These security questions keep this down to a minimum. It is an inconvenience to new comers, but one that we are willing to have if it keeps this community clean and running smoothly.

I solved my problems by using Chromes Private Tab function. Vera is assigned a static IP by the way. Not new to networking.
