Cannot Include GoControl Motion Sensor - WAPIRZ-1

Bought GoControl Security Kit which included motion sensor - WAPIRZ-1. I cannot get Vera to recognize this sensor no matter what I do. I cna include it in my Wink Hub no problem and it shows up and works, but if I exclude it and then try to include in Vera ZWave network no matter what I do I cannot get it to be recognized and included on Vera (Vera 3 running UI5). I have tried:

  1. Pressing Program Button on back with paperclip with cover both on and off
  2. Pressing security tab with cover off
  3. Removing and replacing battery into device

Nothing seems to work. I can add it and exclude it and re-add to Wink without any issues. Anyone have any ideas?

I have this sensor and it does eventually pair with the Vera. I remember it being a pain initially. I had to try multiple times and needed to be very close to the Vera.

Guess I will keep trying. I have been within 6" and tried everything…

A strange one, I have one of these and both times I have included it into my system it was in another room and upon inserting the battery Vera Edge picked it up and included it, while I was choosing any sensor from the list, it always detected this one and said we found what you were trying to include and set it up.

Same issue as Chimpware, can’t get this sensor to pair up. Using a brand new Veraplus that I just received yesterday. Have tried numerous times to pair it up. Any suggestions?

Hi Reimj, I am using this sensor with my VeraPlus in my office. Make sure that your firmware is update but going to Settings–>Firmware in the UI and it will check. Also try pairing within a close proximity, if it is out of range of the controller it can’t be included. Last thing is make sure that you don’t have any 900Mhz devices running in your home as they can really reek havoc on a Z-Wave network.

If you still can’t get it paired email support@getvera.com and CC me and enable remote access and include the code in your email, go to Settings–>Customer Care and include the code in your email.

The sensor is sometimes already included to a test system. Try excluding it (put your vera zwave into excluding mode) and poke the back with a paper clip, then switch the vera to include mode and try again.

Thanks Marc. I emailed support last night and have received a response. I replied back to him this evening before checking the forum so didn’t cc you on my reply, I’ll copy you if the suggestions don’t work. Sensor led continuosly flashes unless I pull the battery so I feel like I’m doing something wrong as to why it isn’t pairing up. I have had it sitting right next to the Veraplus with no success.

We do have a 900mhz cordless phone setup. Wife probably won’t be too happy if I tell her we have to turn that off.

Just try unplugging the phone to see if it makes a difference. If it does, then deal with the wife.

Support got it squared away for me. Not sure exactly what they did when they remote connected to the control box, they may have just re-set it. When I first powered it up on Sunday I accidentally cancelled out of the setup wizard and didn’t think to retry. Tonight when I got home and logged in it prompted me to run the setup wizard, and now the motion sensor and door sensors paired up within seconds, even with the cordless phones plugged in. A win win all around. ;D
