Can I use the sylvania SH50201 controller?

I have several of these laying around and would like to use them with vera if possible. Here is the quickstart instructions: http://www.smarthomeusa.com/common/sylvania/QuickStart.htm

I can add this controller, create a scene assignment, add it again but the controller says “button not assigned” after the sync is complete. Vera says the controller is has capabilities: 0,0,0,1,1,0|33, for what that is worth.

Any ideas?

please do this… go to devices, click ‘+’ next to the sylvania cnotroller, and be sure ‘treat scenes as events’ is checked. go to advanced, logs, and check verbose logging. then click save. after the save is done, go to devices, click + next to the sylvania and choose ‘configure right now’. wait 1 minute. then go to the location tab, and write down the date/time when you click a scene button on the sylvania

at this point the logs should have everything I need. so just go to advanced, tech support and submit a trouble report. put in the notes: for aaron re: sylvania controller

Sending now.

it looks like the send timed out … did you get the report?

They look just alike. Not sure if the firmware is the same??

For what it is worth the SH50201 “all on” and “all off” buttons work but the controller shows a “All on failed” or “all off failed” after it turns everything on/off.

It gives the error message because it’s sending an ON/OFF command to a device that doesn’t respond. (ie: a device paired with your controller that doesn’t exists anymore)

I do have several inactive devices that I need to remove.

I can send you one of these controllers if you think it would help in getting the buttons working. I have a few of these and could get rid of the last of my x10 stuff if I can get the scene buttons working on these.

This week it will be a new beta version announced, with this your remote scenes to button should work.

Awesome … Looking forward to it.

Is the new beta still on track for release this week? Looks like the latest firmware is

Patience! 565 has been released.

Upgraded added the controller again but no luck. Still shows “button not programmed”.

I can send you one of these if you think it would help resolving this issue.

I added programming instructions and the note about incompatibility to the wiki.

I still don’t get your problem. Can you pair it with Vera? Can you copy the network data? What’s not working?

It can be paired with vera, the “all on” and “all off” buttons work. But when I assign a scene button (e.g. 1-6) the LCD on the controller “button not programmed” when I press it. In this case I have button #2 assigned to “all office lights on” scene. I have tried different buttons and added the controller several times.

My HA07 controller on the other hand allows me assign a button (e.g. #6 button) to this scene.

Ah, I see. You want to assign a Vera scene to one of its buttons… I haven’t done that, as I used to assign buttons to devices on the controller itself…
