Can I upgrade a unit from UI4 to UI5 remotely ?

I have a client that I want to upgrade their Vera2 UI4 to UI5. Is there a upgrade link as I have done before within UI4 to go to UI5? Or is it absolutley only doable locally?

thanks

It is recommend local upgrade due to if recovery is required it can be very hard remotely.

Below is the link.

I believe this is still active.

Login to the unit and should be possible to use the following link in the “Firmware” Tab of the vera to update it with “URL for Vera custom firmware:”

http://download.mios.com/rt3662_betafirmware/rt3662_Luup_ui5-1.5.622-en-mios.squashfs

thank you.

It did not work. But I tried! No big deal, now I have to travel. thanks again for getting me that link anyways

Sorry to hear it did not work. As you will now be onsite, it might be worth adding a USB at least for system logging before upgrade.

why do i need usb? this is for a client that has just a thermostat and a lock

UI5 is more resource heavy than UI4 and setting logging to USB frees up some of those resources which assist. It is not required as mandatory requirement but recommended. The small size eg 512 k would do the job.

512K might be a little small … Use a 512M.

I ordered a few of these, they are small.

I am either showing my age or the middle of the night is having an effect…

They should be fine.

Yep, I remember when adding a second 32K memory to our PDP-11 was many thousands of dollars …

The guidance system on Apollo 11 was 2K of memory … and Vera can hardly do more than turn on the lights in your house with 512M
