You would need details of the protocol used between the device and the Smartphone apps before you could start writing (or adapting) a plugin. If this is not published somewhere, it can be difficult to discover - sniffing Wifi packets is not that easy and can require the purchase of special hardware.
Unless you are up for the technical challenge, consider using one of the devices that is already supported on Vera.
After I did some shearch about the company I found that it has its own automation system http://broadlink.com.cn/home/index.php based on wifi. I dought they will releash the protocol for use on another system. Or I could be wrong.
I recently bought a RM-PRO device from Broadlink, and it is really usefull and the cheapest way to control IR and RF devices (all of them).
After some research I found this topic, suggesting the idea to make a plugin to communicate the RM-PRO with the VeraLite.
I have just a few experience in programming, but certainly won?t be capable to adapt or create any plugin.
Is there anyone interested in creating the cheapest complete home automation system?
I have already got the SDK from Broadlink. But not even know if it is enough to make that plugin.
Hi Oliverdog,
I am an Android Java developer and little bit of Java Script, I just received my Broadlink RM2 Pro and in a few hours when arriving home I will test the device. I would gladly try to produce an App that could work as a plugin via Intents for the Vera Platofrm and other home automation systems such as Alyt and SOAP, funded through Indiegogo, and then post it on github for everyone to use. Might take a week or to, until I work myself into the code. Question is, how can I get the SDK/API ? Could you send it to me or post it on Github or give me a link?
For starters I would write an App to test the functionality and then, a Plugin to integrate with Vera.
@greenspand
I also ordered it and I’m interested in developing other solutions or integrate it with other projects/solutions. I could help out with java, javascript and PHP.
How far is your development?
hello guys .
I bought a multisensor A1 and received yesterday .
it’s pretty cool .
gives information on the noise level , luminosity, humidity , temperature and air quality of the environment .
and you can create actions based on changes in this information.
The only problem that still persists is the lack of integration with other apps like Tasker and Vera .
Although you can turn your television set with a whistle or turn off the air conditioning when off all the lights , you can not create a complex automation program.
Any news on that plugin?
and just for the record: I can access throught internet normaly using the e-controll app for android.
Hi everyone! This is something I need too!
Just wanted to know if there is any update or timeline with regard to vera (or tasker) integration for this product.
And then, you can generate IR code just from an http address (so no need of a plugin on the Vera)
Just a warning : I’ve isolated the RM-PRO on a dedicated Wifi network, without acces to my LAN, nor to Internet… it tries to send http requests to China. Works well without Internet.
