Blue Iris User Manual

I’ve done a bunch of searching and can’t seem to find a user manual for Blue Iris 4, does anyone know where to find one…?

There is no standalone “user manual” for Blue Iris. The “Help” information provided within the Blue Iris application itself is the only official documentation provided. There are some good “how to” instructional pages, and instructional videos, that have been posted on the internet by experienced users.

Maybe more info on what your looking for would get your anwser but there is no manual.

The older manual founds online still works but any newer commands not in there you need to email KEN at blueiris and he can help you. We have done that several times and picked up new items. He will even add them if they don’t exist in most cases.

Kind of what I expected. I was wondering what the “Temp Time” feature did in the Profiles section but I was able to figure that out by playing with it as it’s not covered in the on line help.

I was just searching for this myself, I was able to find the manual for v3. I’m new to Blue Iris too, so I can’t tell you if things are mostly the same, but so far it seems at least close.

Here’s the link:

BTW, I think the “temp time” feature is how long a manually-activated profile will stay active until it returns to the scheduled profile (but again, I’m new to this too, so I’m not sure).

As I said Before the manual is the same it’s just not updated and it’s missing alot of things.

Temp time is correct. You can set it really high or your can just lock the profile. When I’m changing profiles in Blueiris using logic in the Home Automation controller I use the “LOCK” feature in the http string to ignore that time out and just lock it to the one profile until the next comes and changes it. In theory I could also just set the number very high and it should also always stay. I have different profiles for day and night so that means it should never be more then around 12 to 14 hours before the next profile kicks in.

Again KEN at Blueiris is very helpful. I have shot him emails many times in the past and he’s always responded with the correct http command that we didn’t know it existed or he will gives us the http command and tell us wait to try that after the next update as he will add it.

We have shared many of these commands in the Blueiris plugin thread even tho I don’t use the plugin.
