I was wondering if you were going to include the battery level feature of the battery operated devices.
This way you can tell if a device’s battery needs replacing
It would be a great feature. I would like to see the ability to email me any alarms like that and if UPS goes into battery mode.
Not all devices can report their battery levels. HSM100 34-in-1 sensor can. MCV said battery level will be added later:

I agree with the basic assertion of the original post, but especially wish Vera would hook up to USB-enabled uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) so as to share “Power Failure” information … and potentially send (as well as store, and send again later, after power resumes) a message stating when the power was lost, for how long, etc.

You may want to start a new thread for this [UPS Interfaces] in the luup/programming Category, since it’s a little different from the original request on Battery Operated devices.
I’ve looked at doing that as my next project (2 on books at moment) but the code will be very UPS-specific (mine is an APC). It’s not clear what everyone will really use in terms of a UPS Device-level exposure. If you start a separate thread, it will allow everyone to capture their practical thoughts/ideas on the topic.
