Howdy,

I am trying to get my head around the basics of MIOS programming. I have a Vera lite and a zwave switch outlet and a zwave doorbell.

I am only bench testing at the moment, but I am struggling with something, i am sure is obvious. I have created a scene light on/delay/off/delay/on, pretty straight forward, however I want the bell press to activate the scene. I have tried using triggers but nothing happens.

Could someone talk me through this rather simple request, I reckon once I understand what I am missing, I will be able to add various sensors etc as required.

To make things worse I have been a home automation engineer (control4, elan etc) for 10 years, and i am struggling with this simple thing!!

You are on the right track. Adding a trigger to your scene is the correct approach.

You’ll need to explain exactly how you have the trigger configured, perhaps a screen shot. It would likely also be helpful to know what kind of doorbell setup you have. Z-Wave doorbells are non-standard.

Don’t know if this is your problem or not but I was having a similar problem with a really simple scene I was programming and it turned out that my programming wasn’t a problem. I had simply (but unknowingly) not hit the “RUN” button on the scene when I finished the programming.
