Ok I am a little gun shy now since the first time I needed to use a back up it was corrupted… Is there anyway to test or at least validate the integrity of them?
I’ve never had a corrupted backup, and I’ve made hundreds that I quite regularly use.
I’m afraid that the only way to test the backup is to install it.
You can open and explore the backups with 7-Zip.
While that doesn’t prove their integrity, you can at least take a look at the internal files, etc.
If the backup fails to open with 7-Zip, it’s probably corrupt.
I found that if the local backup is 4kb, it’s just a text file that says “Backup FAILED” or something.
Thanks… I think this was all related to the 1.1.1327 issue. None of the back-ups I made since that upgrade were valid so I had to go back to one several days old. Since I have re-flashed and rebuilt my network and now on 1.1.1332 it seems to make backups reliably 37kb size…
