I am running the latest firmware on Vera Edge. The software has an option called Automatic Device Detection. It is unchecked. Yet I see that vera is contantly trying to connect to my NAS. Why is that? Does the option not work? Does unchecking this option not mean that vera should not be browsing the network?

Automatic detection is scanning for UPnP devices on the network. Unchecking that box does disable this feature. Though I’m confident that it probably works, I can’t speak with certainty about if it works or not with the very latest firmware version.

What is the nature of the connection attempts to your NAS? Is it login attempts on certain ports?

Do you have any plugins installed that might try to use the NAS? What about cameras trying to save images to the NAS?
