Autmatic update of data on computer interface?

Hello ,

I have 2 Everspring ST814 Z-Wave Temperature sensors and I am curious about how it intracts with my computer via the vera 3.

Both Eversprings are included on my vera 3 and working fine, the wake up is set to 1800 seconds and the poll command to1080 seconds, I understand , that is the time (30 minutes) when the device wakes up and sends data to my vera 3. So my vera 3 gets every 30 minutes an update of temperature, humidity and battery level.

When I have opened the vera 3 interface on my computer it shows all these data , is this data also automatically updated? , or do I have to refresh the webbrowser page? or is this different per browser ( I use explorer 9.0.11 and firefox 17.0.1).

The other question is; if the data doesn’t recieve the vera 3. Let’s say I am on the edge of the reception, and the update every 30 minutes does not go very well , maybe 70% of the times a data stream is send it is not received by the vera 3. How do I know I have the latest temperature and humidity and the data is not let’s say 5 hours old.

Many thanks,
Cor

I generally use IE9 and the temperature is updated on the webpage without refreshing it. I’m not sure if you will see an error message on the device if Vera polls it and it fails to respond and the error message disappears after a while anyway.

Don’t forget with 1.5.408 you can now set the ST814 to auto report a 1’ temp change using parameter 7 on the ST814 parent device.

@ Frasier: So , I don’t have to worry about the refresh rate on the computer screen … that’s allready good news.

I know about the function of sending a message when the temp drops or increases with a certain amount , I have it setup now , that below a certain temp I will recieve an email, that’s working fine. I am just worried that let’s say the vera 3 doesn’t recieve an update, I will never know. Is there anyway to find out , or programm something that if vera hasn’t recieved a sensor update within 2 hours I get a notification?

thanks,
Cor
