Audio/visual feedback when arming/disarming

What is the best and/or easiest way to get some audio or visual feedback when arming/disarming my Vera Secure?

I know of Vera Alerts but looking for an option not involving an android phone…

Zigbee device:

Both devices will offer you audio feedback whenever you will arm/disarm your system.

I prefer the visual. So i have installed couple of these around the house:

I have the LED configured based on home mode via PLEG to show the following:
red=away mode/night/vacation mode
home/stay mode=green mode

I am doing something very similar with some old Leviton 4 button scene controllers. I have a Lua code changing them different colors upon house mode changes.
