I have several Leviton 1 scene controllers that I would like to associate with outlets. Does Vera have the capability of doing an association?
I’m told that is coming soon, for both the single scene and the 6 scene controllers. Hopefully in the next firmware build.
Yes, we’re testing the firmware right now to do this
Does it support bi-directional association? In other words, when you associate a controller to a switch, will the controller get a status back when you manually change the status of the switch?
Also, do you support 4-zones/4-scenes Leviton controllers?
I’m not familiar with ‘bi directional’ association. Is that an official Z-Wave thing? If so, do you have a link on it? Or if it’s just a question, afaik, assocations are always 1 way in Z-wave.
I’m not sure how it is called. But basically, it works as I explained - when the status changes on the device itself, does it send the change status back to the controller?
I know that Leviton controllers can receive status from Leviton switches, but not from devices by other manufacturers. For those devices, the controller can control their status, but they don’t send the status back.
I hope my explanation is clear…
This issue with 2 way feedback from lights is actually a screwy patent one. Lutron patented the idea. So when you activate a Leviton light switch it can’t report it’s status without violating the Lutron patent. So Leviton instead sends an unsolicited generic app update. We then see that and trigger a poll. So it’s not as straightforward as it should be.
I’ll see if we can add an association to the light switch to do this another way. http://bugs.micasaverde.com/view.php?id=325
