Its for the Lowes Iris system. It didn’t have the z-wave logo so I think its iris only like some of the others. Anyway… Anything like this for z-save? Just need to turn the water on and off.
Thanks

Not at that price point. There are Z-Wave water shutoff valves but they are for your water main. I think the best route for accomplishing this with Vera would be to use a valve that can be actuated by a relay and connect it to a GlobalCache relay or some arduino gizmo.
The Lowe’s Orbit Iris Hose Timer (Model 27087) is a Zigbee device. It is therefore not compatible with today’s Veras, up to and including Vera 3 and Vera Lite.
Has anyone added on zigbee capability to vera with something like Raspberry Pi with a zigbee dongle?
This little hose end attachment could be quite useful for folks wanting to do a little outdoor project like flower pots or topping off a pool.
Vera’s HTML capability screams interoperability.
I could have sworn the Vera team at the last CES were showing a Zigbee controller. I’m hoping it will be available as an add-on for Vera…
I’ve seen a video of that demo but can’t find it at this moment.
I also found this today. Also at Lowes. I haven’t done any research on it yet but I wonder if it runs on 12volt or something like that. Plug in a low voltage power supply to a vera controlled switch and away you go. Tie in the wire on the back.
I did some searching and found someone that made a plug in timer… Check it out, looks interesting.

Yes, and you could easily tie it into the Vera using the Arduino plug-in here http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/board,55.0.html. There is also a complete site at http://mysensors.org. Feel free to ask questions but that would be the way to go so to speak!

I was told by a Vera Rep at CES 2014 that Vera would support Zigbee “by the fall of this year.”
(He also said UI7 would be released in April :-).
No new Vera hardware is expected this year, he said.
Lowes Iris also had a room displaying tons of new products like this valve, including dog doors, swimming pool sensors and sensors to measure whether your plants need watering. All Zigbee, I assume.
Dog Doors? Any more details on that? I’d love to have a doggie door I can remotely lock and unlock.
They had a dog door on display… and I even saw it recently at a Lowes store (in the Iris display). There was no Z-Wave logo on the box. I think that was the idea: to remotely open/lock the doggy door.
