Any updates on pairing a GE Simon XT security panel with a Vera Lite?

I’ve scanned the forums and have read about people trying (w/o avail) to pair their Simon XT to their micasaverde device. Namely, trying to make the vera the primary and the Simon XT the secondary controller.

The posts I’ve read eventually settle down and no one ends up getting an answer for how to make the 2 devices work together. For reference, I’ve noticed that the 2 big contributors are PurdueGuy and Bossston. Does anyone know of any updates on this issue? I have a Vera Lite I purchased a few weeks ago and 2 Simon XT keypads that are being installed (using Nationwide/alarm.com as the monitoring service)

What are my options with the Simon XT? Can I not get my vera lite to work with the Simon XT? Do I have to just pay a monthly service fee to use the Simon XT’s as controllers? How the heck do I even pair my already-installed kwikset locks to the Simon XT controllers? Again, I’ve foraged through the forum posts and I can’t seem to find anything on this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

I gave up on getting it to work, sold the Simon XT, and went with a DSC alarm panel.

Tech support was great at the start, and then useless, and stopped responding to emails. Pretty much, it should work, it doesn’t, and that’s it.

Locks won’t work on both controllers, (which is why I gave up), so if you don’t have locks, it might.

Do you have a SimonXT that you are paying for service on? Or do you have one that is service-free? If it is service free, I’d say ditch it and get a wireless DSC from HomeSecurityStore.com.

Thanks for the response.

I got a great deal on my alarm system (which was just installed) so I’m reluctant to change key panels after a long and difficult installation process with my hardwired sensors. I am paying for a service for the Simon XT keypads through nationwide, an alarm.com dealer. However, if I did change. Is DSC the only route? How much did you sell your Simon XT key pads for? And what model DSC do you recommend? Thanks again.

I have the DSC 1832. I got the kit from Home Security Store.

I actually did a contract swap, to have someone take over the contract.

You swapped hardwired for wireless sensors? There are GE->DSC wireless translators, but I have never used one, nor read reviews.

DSC isn’t the only route, but it is very well supported here, and widely used in general.
