Any iPhone and/or Mac users using Geohopper?

I started playing with Bleustation and Geohopper for iPhone and decided to try the Mac version as well for the applescript support. The Bluestaion hasn’t been all that great so far but the Geohopper has been very slick. I am having a little trouble getting it to run any applescripts I’ve created though, any help would be great. I simply can’t get Geohpper to see them, I put them in the folder the instructions say but it never does see them.

EDIT
Working with the folks at Geohopper on the Bluestation and I am still hopeful that it will work correctly. Limited time to play with everything and the Geohopper has grabbed my attention first

I have the iOS version. Installing the MAC version now and will start messing with it and see how it goes…

Let ya know

Great. My “test” was a simple applescript that opened Firefox, loads a URL (a scene), closed the tab in 5 then closed Firefox in 5. It’s a bit ham-fisted but if this works I’ll work on a more sophisticated script to just POST a URL. The webhook that you can buy simply sends a JSON file that looks like:

{"sender":"tperfitt@twocanoes.com","location":"Beacon in upstairs office","event":"LocationExit","time":"2013-09-11 02:56:13 +0000"}

Not sure if that would be useful too.

Cant you bypass using the Mac altogether and just send the URL directly to Vera?

I couldn’t get that to work, it only sends that JSON line above. If anyone can find a way for Vera to see/act on that…that would be great. I sent the developer an example of a URL and an explanation of what I was trying to do and he suggested setting up an account with Zapier.com and that site would handle an HTTP POST from this app. Not really trying to bounce my user/pass off a 3rd site though.

can you do an applescript that just reformats the event and passes it on to vera?

After reading this thread, I find this very interesting for home automation, especially detecting when my phone (any bluetooth) is home or away. I was using the iPhone locator plugin that was developed, but I found it drained my battery too fast as it was constantly pinging it for its location. This is on my to-do list when I finally find free time.
