android app won't connect after login

I recently purchased a Vera 3 running UI7. I have downloaded the Vera app on 3 android tablets and 2 android phones. The app connects on 2 of the tablets after login and I can access the devices. The phones and one of the tablets log in and identify the Vera 3 but when I get the message “you will be redirected to the equipment” the app stalls and never connects. I can’t log out until I power off the phone or the app times out. Is there a setting I’m missing? I can’t figure out why the Vera app works on only 2 of my 5 android devices.

an Azpen a729 tablet running Android 4.4.2
two Galaxy S3 phones also running Android 4.4.2

I Just checked the tablets that connect to my Vera 3. They are Acer Iconia tablets running Android 4.1.1.
