I don’t think there was a thread on this, but I know there was a post or 2. Tomorrow is the last day for 20% off of Leviton Z-wave products (select products) over at Amazon.

Also note that the VRI06-1lz is only ~$63 as of this posting. This is fairly cheap and that is BEFORE the 20% discount which makes it ~$50 per dimmer! Please note that the VRI06 is a 2 wire dimmer, not a 3 wire, but I feel it’s still worth mentioning. I’ve had some good luck with it using the home depot 6" EcoSmart LED trims for recessed lights.
The VRI06-1lz is an incandescent dimmer. Doesn’t seem like a good value with incandescents going away. The VRMX1-1LZ seems to be the current state of the art. With the sale the price was finally reasonable.
I understand its incandescent, however some leds are designed to dim on such dimmers. As I said I have 3 circuits with ecosmart led trims and they are fine and don’t buzz. I agree that ymmv, however I have had LEDs buzz on 3 wire dimmers as well.

Even without the sale, the VRMX1-1LZ can be purchased for $77. It’s great that these older dimmers do work with some LEDs. But I don’t think today it’s a good idea to install dimmers, which should be expected to have a long life, based on incandescent control technology.
Not that the Leviton products are always great. The scene controllers don’t include easily, and seem to require better than average network signal.
