OK so I have the Veralite and was able to connect to the three devices I own; a doorwindow sensor, garage door opener, and a honeywell thermostat. Good stuff. Now I am wanting to create scenes but I am not able to figure out how to correctly program for what I want it to do.
It seems that UI7 is missing AND statements. If i want a scene to trigger everyday at 10pm AND when the temperature is 75degrees is not able to be programmed to my knowledge. The UI7 only allows for OR statements and triggers the above example at 10pm or when it is 75degrees.
Also, how do I run an event at a specified time based on the state of a sensor? If it is 10pm AND the garage door is Open then trigger an alert; for instance.
It seems that UI7 is focused on reacting to sensors and triggering other sensors instead of monitoring them. Am I missing something here? I’ve only had this thing for a week and the learning curve has been somewhat steep.
In my opinion, that is the biggest limitation of the Vera. I was able to overcome it on my Android phone by using Tasker & AutoVera. If you are familiar with Tasker, you should have no problem.
If you don’t use Tasker and have an Android phone, there is a learning curve. There might be other apps that allow for stuff like this for iOS & Android, but I use AutoVera.
Stock scenes are very limited. Most out grow them, some faster then others. When you do the next option is paying one time 5.95 for a plugin called Program Logic Event Generator or pleg. There is a whole section on it here in the forums. There is a pdf called Pleg Basics in a starting thread on it. I no longer use the stock scenes. This does all the advanced logic.
The other option is LUA code which has a steeper learning code but is free.
I have on two separate occasions tried to explain to Mi Casa Verde staff that to me PLEG IS Vera - Vera really does nothing of value to me without PLEG.
They respond that no, PLEG is a 3rd party app, and they don’t officially support it.
To which I reply - if your product doesn’t really work without this 3rd party app, then it doesn’t make sense to think of it as 3rd party app. Mi Casa Verde should fully support it as if it was part of their own code-base.

While I totally agree with you, at what point do you think they will walk all over Richard and screw up the plugin? Careful what you ask for! ;D
You could also just create a scene with a trigger for 10pm and then in the luup code for the scene check the temperature and return true (proceed with the scene) if the temperature is < 75 and return false if the temperature is > 75. It’s not hard, it just requires a bit of programming.
