all the pieces but without a Vera3?

Hello,
Using the Arduino solution for field sensors is great because it’s so cheap.

So the Gateway component is used to bridge the 2.4GHz sensor network to the Vera3 right? And the Vera3 is used because there is a easy to use IDE and Hek wrote a great pluggin to present the field device data, and Vera’s user interface is very mature.

Is there anything out there that can replace the Vera with something like a Raspberry Pi? A software package that comes with a user interface and API to talk to the 2.4GHz field devices? I don’t necessarily need z-wave. I have a bunch of Arduinos already and a RPi, and the 2.4GHz transceivers. But what I’m missing is the software to present the sensor data as a web service, and to do actions with the sensor data.

We will offer a RPi/cloud/controller version doing just that. But time/resources is limited and main focus is the new documentation site right now.

Thanks for the effort in this Hek. Would the RPi version provide the same API that Vera Android apps would use to access the Vera directly? Or would there be a different Android app to access the RPi version?

I suppose the RPi version won’t belong here in Mi Casa Verde. If there’s a different forum you’re using to discuss the development, please let me know.

Thanks!

There will be a forum on www.mysensor.org when it launches.
