Aeotech MultiSensor settings for USB-powered operation

I am new to Z-Wave and Vera. While this post refers to the AeoTech MultiSensor 6, the questions are not specific to that device and are applicable to any non-battery-powered sensor. That’s why I posted this in the General Section of the forum

I am using the Aeotech MultiSensor 6 with a Vera Edge on UI7 and notice that the minimum Wake-Up delay is 240 seconds. It makes sense to me that if the MultiSensors are USB powered, they should never sleep and should be always on. If always on is not feasible, then they should wake as often as possible.

Is there a way to bypass the Vera UI7 minimum limit of 240 seconds? Is there some reason why I shouldn’t do that?

I am not clear as to when new data on Temperature, Humidity, Light Levels etc. get reported to Vera. Is is every time the MultiSensor 6 wakes? Is it only when the MultiSensor 6 is polled by Vera? Some combination thereof?

Thanks!
