Aeotec Wallmote Duo

Hi,

I received my VeraPlus controller today, and along with it I also bought:

An Aeotec plugin Smart Dimmer 6
A Qubino Smart Relay
and an Aeotec Wallmote Dual

I thought as a test I would start with connecting the Wallmote but unfortunately it just doesn’t work.

Assuming that it is probably a Wallmote Quad with half the functionality, I attempted to connect it as a Quad. It sort of connected and presented 3 devices to the Vera UI, but when I try to do something with it (like turning it on from the UI) it doesn’t work.

Clearly it isn’t quite compatible - anyone have any ideas as to how I can get it to work? I’m not afraid of some programming so happy to give anything a try.

Thanks.

Geth

perhaps try removing it and adding as a generic zwave device. see what you get

Thanks for the hint!

Went looking for the settings for the device from Aeotec - turns out i should have just read the manual in the first place

There is an article online explaining how to get it to work in Vera:

Not quite got it going fully yet but at least i can talk to it now…

Thank you for the link. it actually helped me with another device i had. I wasn’t aware of the group association feature.

I’ve just got a Vera Edge and am trying to add a Wallmote Dual - it finds it as a generic device but not as a proper Wallmote. It looks like Vera have added the Wall mote Quad - any idea on if they will add the dual as well?

I’ve just added the duo to my system associated to a Aeotec Nano Dimmer. It ‘works’ and I can switch on/off the lights and dim them but it will take a bit of time to get used to.

Biggest problem I have is the Orange/Yellow LEDs flashing every so often. In a bedroom, where mine is located, this is most distracting so I’ve now taken it off the wall!

I’ve emailed Aeotec asking if the flashing can be turned off via a FW update as its most annoying!!

Aeotec responded to my support question about the orange flashing and suggested I set the wakeup interval to 0. I had already tried that and it made no difference. Aeotec tested this and confirmed setting wakeup to 0 was not accepted. They now suggest setting it to once per day = 86400.

Updating to say setting the wake up interval to 86400 has stopped the intermittent LED flashing. I’ve not sure when it now does its wakeup as I haven’t seen it but 86400 is once per day

Possible solution on how to use Wallmotes as scene controllers without using Group Associations.
(Haven’t tried it myself yet.)
