Aeon Labs DSB05 4-in-1 sensors firmware upgrade failing Any suggestions??

Hi All,

I have 4 of the Aeon Labs DSB05 4-in-1 sensors and I’m trying to upgrade the firmware on them. Per the information found here:

http://aeotec.com/z-wave-sensor/1323-multisensor-guide.html

I’ve followed the steps

  1. Downloaded and installed the USB to UART drivers
I even tried both versions the VCP and the VCP with Serial Enumeration
  2. Downloaded the latest version of the firmware for the DSB05
  3. Using the cable that came with the sensor I plug it into my PC (the PC sees it and installs drivers for it- see image)
  4. I click on the unzipped executable and click upgrade

No matter what I do after a few seconds the software pops up with upgrade unsuccessful, (see screenshot). ??? ???
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit SP1

Is there a step I am missing or something? Any help/suggestions are much appreciated.

Thanks

Gordon

I had this same issue trying to upgrade the 4-1 using my desktop/Win7 Ultimate. I moved over to my laptop which also had Win7 Ultimate and was able to successfully upgrade the 4-1. I have no idea why one computer worked over the other. The Desktop is very old, overclocked and about the size of a small fridge. Who knows what is going on inside that thing. I just clean it and hope for the best.

Perhaps you can find another PC to try?

Thanks Inzax. Turns out that it didn’t like me going through a powered USB hub.
