Is it actually possible to use this sensor on battery? How should I configure it? The batteries are completely drained after only a few days.
With an USB cable everything works fine, but I want to place it outside.

Did you happen to change the poll / wake up interval of the device?
In the Settings TAB, try Wakeup Interval 240 secs and Poll this node to 960 secs.
In practice you will need to adjust these settings to achieve optimum Battery life.
@roy59,
Welcome!
Did you originally include the device while on USB power?
If you want to change to battery power, you’ll (probably) have to exclude it first, then include it again, while on battery power, so it registers as a battery-operated device.
Is there any news on this?
My sensor drains 4 AAAs in just 42 hours. I included the device while on battery power.
Just to add, wakeup is 1680 and poll 900. IR is switched off - I just need temperature and light level.

Sounds broken to me. Did you update the firmware? If yes, perhaps you should contact Aeon Labs, this is an issue with their device, not Vera.
Certainly not right - mine uses the first 30% in about 6 weeks (see attached)
Can you post the [tt]Capabilities[/tt] string for the device (from the [tt]Settings[/tt] tab)?
Thx for your feedback.
I did the update now. Lets see how that works.

Sure:
Capabilities 82,156,0,4,32,1,R,B,RS,|48,49:5,112,114,128,132:2,133,134,
Thanks! The device appears properly registered as a battery-operated device.
Thanks.
Looks like the device lost its Z-Wave connection with the update.
Roy59, do you managed to correct your battery problem?

Is that so? I didn’t know. Then I probably should reregister my devices since the all operate on power from USB and they may have been registered as battery operated. Do You know how I can check that? Is there no other way for changing the registration between USB/Battery operated?
Look at the first number in the [tt]Capabilities[/tt]. If it’s less than 128, it is battery operated.
To change between modes, you have to go through the exclude-include cycle.

Thank You. I will try that
