Adding Modes and Shortcuts

The Dashboard has 4 predefined modes and 2 predefined shortcuts. Is there a way to add my own modes and shortcuts? I could not find any place to do so.

Hi maja,

Adding custom modes is not possible, you can only use the predefined ones. Here you can fine the documentation: House Modes - MiOS

Andrei, thanks. I hope they will add such functionality for a future update.

I commented on their MODES early in Ui7 to MCV.
They are targeting the 80% market.
I view many of the people that read these forums as the top 50%.

Many people see Vera as a platform for Automation.
With there definition of 4 modes, each being orthogonal, and the inability to change the set of modes, it does not cut it for many in the top 50%.

Fore ME i want to be able to say I am AWAY and that it’s NIGHT.
If I did a lot of entertaining I might want a PARTY mode.

Right now I think a lot of people use Multi-Switches and/or Virtual Switches for MODES and Scenes/PLEG for automation.
I do not see that changing much in UI7 for a large number of people that use this forum.

When MCV provides some promised APIs I will make it easy to Trigger and/or Change House Modes in PLEG for those that think they can live within it’s limitations.

I’ve been looking for a new “party” mode for some time. Party mode would be just for that - parties - and would change settings and disable automated scripting which would be used on a normal basis.

Party Mode could do one or more of the following:

  1. Disable automated sensors turning off lights
  2. Disable sprinklers
  3. Disable thermostat temperature change
  4. Lights on to 100% rather than 80%
  5. Door locks open
  6. Alarm system not enabled automatically.
  7. Limited time, specific schedule.

Note that party mode is special as it tends to disable features which are used for home automation and energy reduction and which are not appropriate when there are lots of people in the house. As such, its not easy to implement as a regular scene.

Any other ideas?
