I just got a VeraLite with a Jasco 45610 and extender and it get “ERROR: Unable to get any information on node.”

This sounds like the device is too far away, out of range form Vera. Try moving Vera closer and see if it works.
If you are relying on the extender to reach the the 45610, it is possible that you have a routing issue. If this is the case, a Z-Wave network heal might resolve your issue.
