Great plug in! Got first zone going, a ZP100, awesome. Then I thought I’d add the second zone, a Play 3. So went through the “add a device” deal for UPNP. So it presents three devices that match the ip address of the Play 3. No problem I go to configure each of them - check ip address then change the device file to D_Sonos1.xml
Problem I have is when I go to press one of the controls from the device list (play, stop etc etc) I get the “No Foreign Controls URLs for Device” error message. Digging around further the Device Settings tab doesn’t show the MAC address nor IP address.
Any ideas ?
Delete the new device added and follow the same steps as you did to create the first device.
APPS > Develop Apps > create device.
http://code.mios.com/trac/mios_sonos-wireless-music-systems/wiki#
Create the Sonos device:
Open Create Device.
In the UpnpDevFilename input box enter D_Sonos1.xml.
In the Description input box enter a name for the panel device, e.g. Sonos Living Room.
Click Create device.
Close this window and Save.
Thank you very much Brientim. I think I was so stoked after getting the first zone going I plumb forget the menu tree to do. Sadly, for such a key piece that makes our lives so much easier, the Vera is a set and forget thing for me. Now back to the tunes. And I promise not to ask again when I get my third zone set up.
You’re welcome and asks as many times as you need too.
It is not always easy to remember the various way to do different things.
Good luck and there are other Sonos threads for setting up Text to speech (TTS) which makes wider use of the two devices and the benefit of integration.
Don’t forget to enter the IP address.
Automatic adding of new Sonos is not yet managed by the plugin, but something in my todo list.
Got the ip address sorted. You guys are awesome! TTS is next in tandem with the DSC alarm panel
