Add EMW100 manually?

I am trying to add some Everflourish EMW100R plugin switches to my Vera Lite using the RFXtrx plugin.

The latest compatible products (RFXtrx Gateway) says that these switches are NOT plugin compatibel.

Does this mean that the plugin can’t add these at all, or that they are possible to add manually?

If they ARE compatible, what settings should I use (it feels like I have tried everything… :S)?

Sorry for that but I can confirm that I have not yet made the enhancements in the plugin to make it compatible with this particular device.
I don’t remember exactly what was the difficulty. Maybe just a lack of free time or other priorities…

I see! These switches are commonly avaliable and very cheap here in Sweden, so if you get around to it it would be very appriciated!

Hi Lolodomo,

Have you been able to add this device in yet ? The RFXTRX module responds with the yellow light flashing when using the “Lighting4” protocol so something is being received, however, no device is ever created.

It would be great to have this integrated/fixed as the remote switch devices are only 3 for ?10 in clas ohlson. Clas Ohlson

RFXtrx supports GAO/Everflourish EMW100. Are you sure that it is the same product ?
I will add support for Everflourish EMW100…

Support is now added in my development version: trunk – RFXtrx Gateway

BUT the UI does not expose the LEARN command so I imagine that it is simply not yet usable because you will not be able to pair with your switch power.
It is probably already usable only if you know and create the device in the Vera using the same remote id as your remote control.

Updated my files to the ones in the development version, but my Vera still do not add a new switch when I use the remote for the EMW100 switches? What protocol needs to be enabled?

For the EMW100 the RFXtrx is not able to receive signal from remote controls but only to transmit orders.
What display rfxmngr when you push a button of your remote ?

Will try and move my RFXtrx to a computer so I can run rfxmngr later this evening.

Try to control your power switch with the rfxmngr first.
I suppose you will have to pair using the learn command.

If you succeed with rfxmngr, return to vera and create a device using the same id and unit code. Then on and off commands should work from this device.

Any news ?

The “Learn” command is now available for GAO/Everflourish EMW100 in the “Managed devices” tab.
That means EMW100 is now 100% supported.

Connected my RFXtrx433 to the computer and updated the FW to 76 (type 1).

Also tried to send signals using a couple of different EMW100T remotes. The RFXtrx433 does not seem to pick up any signals.

What protocol should be enabled?

The RFXtrx433 is only working as transmitter for the EMW100. That is mentioned in the user manual.
So you can only use the Vera ou your PC+rfxmngr as a virtual remote but the commands from the physical remote controls will not be recevied/decoded.

Weird! I connected the RFXtrx433 to the Vera again and tried to manually create a switch for the EMW100. It did not work (got a error message) but now the option for this device type in the pull down menu has disappeared?

I don’t know what you have done with your plugin files. Maybe you forgot to refresh your WEB browser cache after uploading a new js file ?

I just tried with my version and I can create a EMW100 with any problem.

For the EMW100, the full process should be:

  1. create manually the device using the plugin UI (reload, refresh browsere cache, …)
  2. pair the created Vera device with a physical switch power using the Learn command available in the “Managed devices” tab (I don’t knwo exactly how is working the pairing process)
And that’s al. Then use ON and OFF button of the light switch device in the Vera to command your switch power.

Am I missing something? I can’t find the option of creating the EMW100 manually under “New device”.

You certainly don’t have the right J_RFXtrx.js file. You have to retrieve it from this ZIP file available at the bottom of this page: trunk – RFXtrx Gateway

And don’t forget to update L_RFXtrx.lua and S_RFXtrx.xml too.
