AD2USB vs EVL3/4

I have a Vera lite UI5 and a Honeywell 20P alarm panel. I am running wiring between the alarm panel and the Vera this weekend. My initial goal is to be able to arm the alarm, check status of the alarms me identify which zone is alarming. Future goal is to set up automation scenes using the alarm sensors.

With the above goals is there a clear choice of using the AD2USB or the EVL? If the EVL makes more sense, should I use the EVL3 or EVL4?

I have both the AD2Pi and the EVL3. I use a cheap TP-Link router as a wifi bridge for both.

I feel the plug in for the EVL3 is more advanced and works better for me. I use the EVL3 to interface with the Vera but I like web interface of the AD2PI so I use that for remote control and text alerts.
