Richard,
Tonight my Vera froze, happens about once a week. Then I must unplug/replug. The problem is, when I do this PLEG fails almost every time. Usually I need to unplug the device 2 or 3 times before I don’t get the errors. Reload does not fix it.
I, and I suspect others, rely heavily on PLEG to work. A license check causing catastrophic failure is a major problem IMO.
I don’t know what the resolution is (Maybe caching the license and do a monthly check?) OR preferably, I’d be happy to pay more $ for the license check to be pulled out completely - I’d rather pay for an unlimited license for PLEG/PLTS/VeraAlerts so we can simply avoid this problem now and in the future.
My security system alerts run through PLEG. What happens if I’m on Vacation for a week or two? Now I have no idea if my security system is working properly.
Richard said he tracked down the fix to multiple restarts causing the license error. This normally happens during app updates.
By any chance, do you also have bridged veras (multiple vera’s joined together)? If so, there is a bug that causes the registration number to move from the slave to the master…causing the master to become unlicensed. If not, no worries…a fix is on the way.
I only mentioned the Vera freezing because that forces me to reboot, which causes the PLEG problem, nearly every time.
I did not know there is a 6.8, the changeling thread only mentioned 6.7 from. What I saw before I posted. I did not look to see if my PLEG version was updated… this morning I did, and I see 6.8. So, I may still be having this problem with 6.8, unless it updated last night - any way to see what the app updated on my Vera?
I don’t know what is causing the freeze. I’ve tried to tackle it but cannot find the issue. I uninstalled many things and tracked with eventwatcher. Memory was staying on a steady decline, then recovered after several hours. But still locks up once a week or so. MCV support blamed PLEG … Thus they were no help.
